The Provo Pioneer Village has lost its best friend. Stevens C Nelson was the driving force behind what the Village is today. When Steve first took over the stewardship of the Village it was nothing more than a small collection of old cabins. It was his vision, hard work and tenacity that brought the Village to life and he did it all with enthusiasm and a smile.

He loved people, especially children,  and loved sharing with them the history of Utah, the pioneers, and our little Village. He was a teacher at heart.

He will be sorely missed by the cadre of volunteers who have served the Village with him for many years. Now we hope to carry on the great legacy of the spirit of the Provo Pioneer Village as he did, in his honor.
