Would you like to volunteer at the Provo Pioneer Village? We could use your help as a docent (guide) this summer!
Volunteering at the Pioneer Village is a great, rewarding experience where you can learn more about the pioneer roots of Provo, enjoy wearing pioneer clothing, and have fun interacting with wonderful people!
We are holding a training session for anyone interested on Saturday, May 14, 2016, 10:00 AM at the Pioneer Village. If you will attend the training, please RSVP at provopioneervillageSUP@gmail.com or 801-375-9299.
Expectations for volunteers are that you will be able to volunteer at least one day a week for 3 hours (5-8 pm Monday; 4-7 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday; or 10 am-1 pm or 1-4 pm Saturday) from May 27 to September 5, 2016. Of course you can have time off for vacations, etc. Children are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult. For more information about volunteer positions, see Get Involved.
Each training session will include
– a detailed tour of the Village
– suggestions on how to approach visitors
– clothing expectations and help for obtaining period dress
– scheduling procedures for the summer
– a light lunch
– a discussion on needs and issues of interest
